Frequently asked questions

Do you need a referral to see a Physio?

No – You do not require a GP referral to see a Physio, unless you have hurt yourself at work and are claiming through WorkCover or are a Veteran’s affairs patient.

How do I pay for my treatment?

Payment is required at the time of treatment. If you are a private patient we have the HICAPS system that allows you to swipe your health card and you only have to pay the gap. Otherwise we accept cash, credit card and EFTPOS but not Amex or Diners.

What if I am running late or cannot make my appointment?

We require 6 hours notice if you want to cancel your appointment. Your consideration with this also helps us to plan our staffing levels and avoid turning other clients away

What if I am a WorkCover, Department of Veterans Affairs or Medicare patient?

We accept payment from WorkCover, Veterans affair and Medicare. For each of these you need to have a nominated treating doctor referral and all necessary paperwork from the employer or the insurance company. With Medicare your GP must fill out the appropriate paperwork before we can start treatment.

What should I wear to my first visit?

Comfortable clothing is recommended for your treatment sessions and if necessary we provide shorts and gowns to allow for privacy and access to your injured area. We look forward to welcoming you to SOS Physiotherapy!
